QUIET PROGRESS: MOVING FORWARD

Moving forward doesn’t always look like motion. Sometimes, it looks like taking notice that you’re no longer standing where you once were. It looks like taking note on what you have accomplished—what you have gone through and how you have survived when you thought you wouldn’t.

I’ve been thinking about that lately—how life keeps moving, whether we’re ready or not. In my last blog, I wrote about time—how time waits for no one. When I think about time, it makes me move forward. Seasons change, children and grandchildren grow older, we grow older. We know people who have moved on and those who now live in our memory. But somehow, we are still here. Still here to move forward. For me, moving forward has meant honoring where I have been without living in the past. It has meant trusting that growth can still take place in quiet, but with faith it can unfold right on time—but not necessarily MY time.

There were moments when I thought moving forward required something I did not have. I doubted myself. What I learned instead is that it often begins with desire—a small yes, a decision to keep going even when you have no idea what lies on the road ahead. I just take a deep breath and move. I simply take the lessons I’ve learned, the love, the music, the faith, the hope, and allow them to lead what comes next.

As I continue this journey, I’m learning to ask myself better questions—questions that don’t rush the answers, but invite honesty and reflection. As the result, I’m learning to trust myself.

Wherever you are, may you trust that forward doesn’t have to be fast. It just has to be.

To my community—those of you who read, listen, and walk with me, I invite you to reply to the question below:

What does moving forward look like in your life right now?  I'd Love to hear.
