We live in a world that celebrates movement—building, fixing, planning, achieving, doing. But have you thought of just stopping and being still—to simply be. No tasks. No noise. No to do list. Just be still. With the upcoming holiday season, stress and anxiety seem to run rampant. Don’t get caught up in this holiday web. Some of you have tried meditation, but have you tried something that requires nothing. Just stop “doing” and embrace just “being.” Do nothing. Just sit! You are not what you do; you simply are. What will sitting do for you?
1. Your body relaxes.
2. Your mind begins to settle.
3. You become more aware.
4. You will be able to recuperate.
5. You will be able to reflect.
6. Your creativity returns.
7. Your shoulders drop.
8. You slowly let go of the tension.
9. Your breath deepens.
10. Your emotions may rise just to be acknowledged.
Stillness gives you back your awareness. Your thinking becomes clearer. You will be able to hear that inner small voice—the one we need to hear and acknowledge. It is the voice of God! With clearer insight, you will be surprised to find new ideas. Do not think of doing nothing as being lazy. It is not. It is the time everything is made clear, so stop doing and simply sit with yourself, and watch what will happen. Relax!
Sometimes God speaks the loudest when we are still.
Enjoy the holidays in peace and love. ❤️
Merry Christmas!
